Shelby Co. Market Update – Jan. 1, 2008

Happy New Year!

As we start 2008, we thought you might find a few current statistics about the Shelby County real estate market of interest:

Number of currently active listings in Helena, Pelham and Alabaster (Jefferson and Shelby counties): 1,046

Of those 1,046 listings:Market Update

… 667 are priced at or below $250,000, and 893 are priced at or below $350,000;

… 310 are in Helena, where the average price is $271,906, and the Average Days on Market is 152;

… 348 are in Pelham, where the average price is $251,232, and the Average Days on Market is 145;

… 388 were in Alabaster, where the average price is $220,614, and the Average Days on Market is 115.

A few other notes of interest: You can find prices above one million dollars in each of the three cities mentioned above. The highest active listing price in Helena was $1.495 million, $1.25 million for a listing in Pelham, and Alabaster had one property priced at $1.5 million. There was a time when million dollar properties were not likely to be found in those areas, but no longer!
