Snowden Touched Many Lives In Shelby County

Were you one of the lucky ones? Or did you miss out? The answer depends on whether you knew Tommy Snowden. The long time member of Shelby county’s business, government and real estate community passed away June 10, 2008, following an illness.Tommy Snowden

Colleen and I get to count ourselves among the lucky ones, thankfully. Tommy was a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty and was a frequent visitor to the Oak Mountain Realty Network’s weekly agent meetings in Pelham.

He was a fixture in Shelby county government for decades, starting in 1968, when Alabama Gov. Lurleen Wallace appointed Snowden as Shelby County tax assessor. His service also included many years on the County Commission at a time when Shelby County saw tremendous growth.
